Infinity Ward is bringing to us the next, newest Call of Duty game: Modern Warfare. Again.
You can take a look at the trailer below, but here's a brief synopsis from the makers:
Prepare to go dark, Modern Warfare is back!
The stakes have never been higher as players take on the role of lethal Tier One operators in a heart-racing saga that will affect the global balance of power. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare engulfs fans in an incredibly raw, gritty, provocative narrative that brings unrivaled intensity and shines a light on the changing nature of modern war. Developed by the studio that started it all, Infinity Ward delivers an epic reimagining of the iconic Modern Warfare series from the ground up.
In the visceral and dramatic single-player story campaign, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare pushes boundaries and breaks rules the way only Modern Warfare can. Players will engage in breathtaking covert operations alongside a diverse cast of international special forces throughout iconic European cities and volatile expanses of the Middle East.
And the story doesn’t end there.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, players will be thrust into an immersive narrative spanning the entire game. Players can experience the ultimate online playground with classic multiplayer or squad-up and play cooperatively in a collection of elite operations, accessible to all skill levels.
Looking at the trailer and this synopsis, I'm pretty interested in this reboot of Modern Warfare. The reason why this is getting me interested is because it does appear to be a good single-player story that's going to dive into some of the harder, difficult scenarios that soldiers and civilians deal with in this day and age.
Aside from the trailer and the introduction given by Infinity Ward, we really don't know much about the rest of the details of the game. About how long is the single-player mode is going to be? What kind of game modes will the multiplayer have? Will there be lootboxes?! How about local split-screen?! Is there going to be some kind of item / gun acquisition to where you can build your own character, and get different weapons and spec them out to how you like to play, or is it just 'select a class and go' type of deal?
These are all of the questions I would love to have answered (or most of them) before I make any kind of commitment to buying this game, let alone pre-ordering it before it launches on October 25th, 2019.
